Abstract

Six electric monopole (E0) transitions have been observed at low energy in Pt185: These transitions have no observed rays. The observation of pure E0 transitions and of such a large number of E0 transitions in an odd-mass nucleus is unprecedented. The phenomenon is consistent with the mixing of shape isomeric configurations. © 1992 The American Physical Society.
