Abstract

The l7F(p,γ)18Ne direct capture cross section is important for understanding nucleosynthesis in novae. We have measured cross sections for the proton-transfer reaction 14N(17F,18Ne)13C in order to determine asymptotic normalization coefficients for the 17F+p system and hence the 17F(p,γ)18Ne direct capture cross section. The technique and preliminary results are presented.
