Observation of ππ cascade decays of the Υ{hooked}″

Abstract
Using the CUSB detector at CESR, we have observed hadronic cascade decays Υ{hooked}″ → (Υ{hooked} or Υ{hooked}′) + (π+π- or π0π0), where Υ{hooked} (Υ{hooked}′) → (e+e- or μ+μ-). We derive branching fractions of Υ{hooked}″ → Υ{hooked}′π+π-. The dipion mass spectrum from Υ{hooked}″ → Υ{hooked}π+π- shows no preference for high masses, in strong contrast to the decays Υ{hooked}″ → Υ{hooked}ππ and ψ″ → J ψππ. © 1982.
