A study of the effect of media upon spot test reactions
Abstract
Spot tests have been performed on fifty grades of filter paper to ascertain the effect of the medium on the sensitivity of spot reactions. Variations in sensitivity for a given test of as much as one hundred fold were found, dependent upon the grade of filter paper used. The tests studies were chosen so as to represent five typical classes of reactions of organic reagents with inorganic compounds. © 1951 Springer-Verlag.
