Contradicciones del culto a Añá: un espacio de exclusión femenina religiosa

El culto a Añá en el Complejo religioso Osha-Ifá contiene prohibiciones para las practicantes, sin embargo el objetivo de este estudio busca presentar las contradicciones del espacio de exclusión femenina en el culto a Añá en Villa Clara. Se aplicó la observación no participante, la entrevista en profundidad, la historia de vida y el análisis de contenido. La muestra intencional es de 91 individuos entre babalawos, oriatés, babaloshas, iyaloshas, omoalañas y especialistas en cuatro municipios de Villa Clara, Cuba. Cuatro fenómenos en el espacio de contradicciones de la exclusión femenina: la transculturación como un proceso de influencias sexistas, el enquistamiento del poder religioso femenino, la mercantilización de la religión y la religiosidad de conveniencia patriarcal del poder masculino. Se concluye que el espacio de exclusión femenina del culto a Añá presenta numerosas e injustas incongruencias entre el discurso mito-simbólico, la práctica ritual religiosa, el surgimiento y desarrollo histórico del rito y la religión correspondiente, así como el contexto social actual de las mujeres cubanas.

Abstract The cult of Añá in the Osha-Ifá religious Complex contains prohibitions for the practicing women, however the objective of this study seeks to present the contradictions of the space of female exclusion in the cult of Añá in Villa Clara. Non-participant observation, in-depth interview, life history and content analysis were applied. The intentional sample is of 91 individuals among babalawos, oriatés, babaloshas, iyaloshas, omoalañas and specialists in four municipalities of Villa Clara, Cuba. Four phenomena affect in the space of contradictions of female exclusion: transculturation as a process of sexist influences, the entrenchment of female religious power, the commodification of religion and the religiosity of patriarchal convenience of male power. It is concluded that the space of female exclusion of the cult of Añá presents numerous and unfair incongruities between the myth-symbolic discourse, the religious ritual practice, the emergence and historical development of the rite and the corresponding religion, as well as the current social context of Cuban women.
