Abstract

Blisswood is a meditation on home, the self, and how grief threatens to unravel both. Mourning the recent loss of her mother, the narrator of Blisswood is at work on a novel. When her home life collapses, the fragments of her former life are transformed and reworked in her fiction. This novel is an account of both—an essayistic account of raw grief, and the process of writing through it.
