Abstract

"The Manes" is picaresque novel that explores the nature of belief through the eyes of two fundamentalist Christian doomsday survivalists. Lucinda and Mark Farrar are evicted from their home after a real estate deal goes bad. They decide to kidnap their grandson, Kirby, and take him with them to Colorado where they will start a new life. In Colorado, they face challenges which they never anticipated which make them question their faith.
