Abstract
The author of this paper was Professor Fryze's student and, at the same time, he is a continuator of his research on powers in systems with nonsinusoidal voltages and currents. The paper combines personal impressions on contacts with Prof. Fryze as a teacher with reflections on Fryze's place in the research on the power theory development. The paper indicates ideas that have become permanent in the power theory and those, which had to be abandoned. In conclusions the author expresses his opinion, that just Prof. Fryze set the most visible imprint on the power theory development.
