Abstract
An algorithm is developed for absolutely minimal realization of 2-D systems. A distinguished feature of the proposed algorithm is that it uses only 1-D realization theory and basic knowledge of linear algebra. An example is used to illustrate the effectiveness of the algorithm. © 1991 IEEE
