Abstract

Carbon-fluorine bond hydrogenolysis in perfluoroethyl-iridium complexes was discussed. Heterolytic activation of the H2 molecule at iridium was performed. It was found that the displacement of water results in the heterolytic activation of H2. It was also found that C-F activation occurs by protonation of the α-CF bond.
