Abstract
Model compounds that interact with metal chlorides and metal ions were developed. The interaction is especially apparent in the case of Cu(II)chloride and Cu(II) ions. The more bulky DI model compounds are more adept for these sorts of interactions indicating that the polymer may also be capable of metal complexation.
