Nonequilibrium processes in polymers undergoing interchange reactions. 1. Relaxation rates
Relaxation processes due to interchange reactions in polymer systems are analyzed by use of the analogy with the Boltzmann equation for a gas of hard spheres. The linear rate of relaxation of a perturbation in the n-mer concentration is obtained. By use of Monte Carlo simulation, the range of validity of the linear approximation is shown to be fairly large.
