Frontal polymerization in porous media
Frontal polymerization of a diacrylate was studied in a two-dimensional porous medium. Several chemicals were used including benzoyl peroxide (BPO), tri(ethylene glycol) dimethacrylate (TGDMA), methacrylic acid, acrylic acid, acrylamide, and 1,6 hexanediol diacrylate (HDDA). The only system found to support propagation in felt is HDDA with BPO. Methacrylic acid, acrylic acid, acrylamide in dimethyl formamide (1/gmL) did not support frontal propagation.
