Frontal ring-opening metathesis polymerization of dicyclopentadiene 
The frontal ring-opening metathesis polymerization (FROMP) of dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) with commercial reagents was reported. The rate of bulk polymerization was reduced through the addition of an additive and lowering of the DCPD below its melting point. The polymerization which started from a solid mixture containing DCPD, catalyst and an additive, occured very easily. The amounts of both additive and catalyst necessary for high conversion were found to be quite low.
